Artistic Facilitation & Dynamic Learning Processes

The spring focused on bringing tactile craft and traditional handwriting to life through around forty workshops for Skapande skola (grades 2–7). It was deeply rewarding to adapt the teaching to young perspectives and see how aesthetics sparked curiosity about further language study. At the same time, I led intensive courses in Japanese language and kawaii culture. The core of all my work is to inspire further study and exploration.

Cultural Encounters & International Publication

During 2025, the focus was on bringing different organizations together to create new meeting places around Japanese folklore and cosplay. Through close collaboration with Kulturskolan, Aggregat in Hallonbergen, and the National Museums of World Culture at Ladugårdsgärdet, shared working methods were introduced to place subcultures in a broad cultural-historical context. The year also marked an international milestone: an interview with comic artist Åsa Ekström led to an article in Japan's largest daily newspaper, Asahi Shimbun, where the work was presented from a cultural-studies perspective. In parallel, I further developed pedagogical frameworks for regional cultural initiatives, balancing academic rigor with media reach.
Cezar has a genuine and deep interest in Japanese culture. 2024

Japanology & Cultural Mediation

A year shaped by cultural mediation and public appearances. During NärCon Summer 2024, I gave a lecture on Japanese spirits (Yokai) to 160 people in the auditorium at Linköping University—an educational collaboration that preceded the opening of the major Yokai exhibition at the Museum of Ethnography. I also gave an exclusive calligraphy demonstration for the cosmetics brand SENSAI at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm. Throughout the year, I offered workshops in the traditional crafts of Furoshiki and Japanese calligraphy to a wide range of audiences, including companies such as Microsoft, associations, and enthusiasts.
Sept 2023 – April 2024

Harajuku Neo-Decora: A Cross-Cultural Project

A comprehensive project funded by the Japan Foundation. Following field studies in Japan in September 2023, a sold-out lecture was held on November 18, 2023, at the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, as part of a joint program with Petra Holmberg and Yurika Dalnäs. My photograph of a Neo-Decora profile was selected as the main image for the program's official marketing. The project concluded with an exhibition during Culture Night on April 20, 2024.

Art Photography in Stockholm

An artistic exploration of visual aesthetics, nature composition, and cosplay. The work resulted in several solo exhibitions at prominent Stockholm venues including Kulturhuset Lava, Sergels torg, and Gamla Stan.
